Line Editing and Writing
Kids' lit
Stories make us more alive, more human,
more courageous, more loving.
- Madeleine L’Engle
I write and edit engaging content that invites children to explore the world around them. Formats range from board books to backyard projects to reference resources. I have written for ages 0–10; I've edited for ages 0 to 100. Click or scroll down to learn about some of my clients.
A great editor clarifies the author's truest voice without inserting her own. Helping people examine and hone their own work is one of my favorite things to do. My goal is to help your readers—and you, too—discover all your story has to offer. Read the About Editing section to learn more about where your work may be in the editorial process. Original content development, editing, proofreading
I developed original creative content for children ages zero to eight in a variety of formats, including board books, picture books, and reference resources. Most titles have a learning/discovery component to them. Pictured here is a twelve-piece board book set about the natural world. Other original titles include:
-
Where Do Animals Live? a Disney Learning search-and-find with facts and photos of animals and habitats to match corresponding Disney worlds; this format also includes mini-science experiments and maker activities (image here)
-
Quiz-It Pen 4-Book Interactive Animal Library, a Britannica Kids book set that shares fascinating facts about animals and related questions requiring higher-order thinking (image here)
-
Discover With Me, a Baby Einstein easel book that features a story for babies on one side and early learning content for the parent on the other side (image here)
